F.A.Q.

  • For whom this product

For all. Although it is difficult to call a template, rather it is an industrial blank for pulling on its design in order to make a full template for the site.

Initially, this template was conceived as a simple alternative to the template protostar, included in the regular supply of Joomla!3. Only protostar based on the already outdated and uncomfortable bootstrap2, and master3 originally intended to UIkit3.

At the very beginning of the template creation process, it became clear that due to the large number of different attributes and settings that control Uikit, the target audience is strongly shifted towards professional developers and makes it almost impossible for beginners and Amateurs to use the template. As a result, the template has acquired a lot of settings that control the behavior of the return of the content, which even a schoolboy is able to cope with.

It was also decided not to use any custom styles for the template and not to add any scripts, leaving a clean UIkit under the hood. This will allow you not to impose on the design of possible additional restrictions applied by the end developer of the site.

  • Where is the design?

See the answer to the question "For whom this product", it is the first.

  • How to get support
  • What made the demo site

    Joomla! 3.last.

    Regular extensions are involved:

    • Articles (com_content)
    • Custom HTML (mod_custom)
    • Menu (mod_menu)
    • Bradcrumbs (mod_breadcrumbs)
    • Language switcher (mod_languages)
  • What's the shit code under the hood? In General, the pattern is complete shit

Write your will is clearly much better.

  • Will the template work on Joomla!4

It won't. When will Joomla!4, under it will be a separate adaptation of the template.

  • For what in parameters of modules of a template the parameters Box class and Title class duplicating similar parameters of modules

First, it's convenient. Sometimes it is necessary to register a class to several modules at once, it is easier to do it on one page of template parameters than to go several times to the parameters of each module.

Secondly, not all modules have such parameters. Sometimes modules are not written by conscientious developers who do not implement additional parameters for their extensions. In this case, the presence of such parameters in the template is very helpful.

  • What justified the large value of the PHP parameter max_input_vars

max_input_vars is the number of input variables that can be accepted in a single request. In the case of a template, this is the value of a large number of enumerated variables in the template parameters sent by the query when saving the parameters in the site administration panel. If there are many sets of parameters for the partitions, a large number of published modules or a large number of menu items of the first level, then the standard value of max_input_vars equal to 1000, will generate a PHP error and save the settings of the template will not happen.

How to set the required value? At the root of the site in the file .htaccess type the string php_value max_input_vars 10000. If this does not help, please contact your hosting administrator to increase this value to the required minimum.

If your hosting server uses PHP-FPM, the way to edit the file .htaccess unfortunately will not work and will cause a server error, to resolve the issue you need to contact the administrator of your hosting.

This PHP parameter is required only for the standard version of the template.
